The company is named after the ancient gold measuring system developed by the Akan people of Ghana, who dealt and traded in gold extensively. Known to Western society as Gold Weights but known by the Akan as Mrammou, these brass weights were used to set standard units of measuring gold, which ensured fair and regulated valuation for all parties involved in the trade and acquisition of gold.
